Owed a refund?

Find out now.

Living your life 60 seconds at a time!

Stop_watchSince you're on the NZ Tax Refunds website it's safe to assume you've probably noticed our clock at the top of the page. The clock symbolises our 60 second promise; where in the majority of cases we can calculate your tax status and inform you if you're due a refund in 60 seconds or less.

We're not ones to blow our own trumpets but we think calculating tax returns in 60 seconds is pretty special, this got us wondering; what else can you do in a minute?

After some research we discovered that there's a phenomenal amount of things that happen on the World Wide Web as shown in the infographic below.

However we didn't stop there; we found this interesting so we went hunting for more. Thanks to the Guinness World Records we discovered that in just 60 seconds Jay Wheddon (UK) was able to smash 88 alarm clocks with his feet. Whether that's a more impressive use of your time than being able to see if you're owed a tax refund for the last five years is up to you!

A few other 60 second world record favourites of ours are:

  • The most underpants pulled on in 60 seconds in the world is currently 33 - the logistics of this are mind blowing!
  • The most brussels sprouts eaten in 60 seconds is 31 - an interesting record that I'm sure his mother would be proud of.
  • The record of most 'high fives' in 60 seconds is held by Alastair Galpin who achieved a staggering 76 right here in New Zealand. Clearly he's a strong team player.
  • The most single-stroke drumbeats played in 60 seconds was 1,507, to put this in perspective that's just over 25 beats per second.
  • And finally the most kisses received in 60 seconds is 125 - which doesn't sound like a bad record to have a go at.

All these records made us wonder; what can you do in just 60 seconds? Perhaps you can eat 6 dry Weetbix; whatever you can do we'd love to know.

So post a comment either below or on our Facebook page and let us know your special talent, we're not expecting world records, but you never know....
